We had spent two weeks, exploring the Hesaraghatta lake and the grasslands as part of our college workshop. Maya and I were intrigued by how such a huge lake has little to no water. We then thought about where does the water comes from, and the answer was the river Arkavathy which is completely dry. This made us dive deeper into the topic and find the reasons for the drying out of the river.

We want to share our findings and understanding with the people as we feel it is our collective responsibility to protect our nature when we are the ones manipulating it in the name of ‘development’. It is our responsibility when we are the ones who need it to survive. We hope that through these blogs, we are able to spread some awareness amongst the people and hope that they come forward to help revive this river and our nature.
